Hydra

Physiology

The hydra is of the same type as the Western dragon with one exception, it can have anywhere from 6 to 9 heads. The hydra can also nt have wings or legs.

History

The Hydra originates from Greek myth. Heracles fought one with 8 heads (6-9 depending on story). When he managed to cut one off, two more appeared in it's place. He soon discovered that if he used a torch to burn the stump when he did cut one off that it would keep it from growing anymore back. Also, in Greek myth, Jason killed a hydra to get the golden fleece. It is believed that the center head of the hydra is the "main" head. If you can get to it first, the hydra will die without you having to decapitate the rest of the heads.
