Sea Serpents
|
Physiology These are Serpent-type dragons that live in water, whether it be fresh or salt.

History Since man has been sailing in ships, sea serpents have been in history. These creatures were shown on maps early
in European history, where unkown territory was markeb "Here Be Dragons". Some scientists believe that these sea serpents
were actually giant squid, large masses of sea kelp, or even seafaring dinosaurs. The Basilosaurus had a very long body, a short neck,
and a mouth filled with rows of sharp teeth. If it came out of the water near a boat, it could very much be thought of as a sea serpent.
"Nessie", the Lochness Monster in Scotland, is just one of the famous sea serpents. Some others are Leviathan,
Mo-o, and Cetus.
