Senses

A dragon usually has five senses like a human: site, hearing, smell, touch, and taste. Some, however, have a sixth sense, that is that some of them are able to "read" the emotion of another living being. The regualr five senses that a dragon is equipped with are incredibly strong. For example, their snse of smell is about one hundred times that of a bloodhound dog. They can smell something from a coupe of miles away.

The sixth sense of a dragon is very accurate at close range. If something is feeling very strong emotion, it will register very strongly to a dragon as well; even if it is not within visal range. The stronger the emotion, the better a dragon can feel it and vice versa. This is where the term dragonfear originates. Dragonfear is an all encompassing, frozen-in-place fear that a dragon causes upon an animal or human that looks upon it. A dragon will sometimes use this advantage to defeat its foe, mostly thieves and knights. Only the very bravest (or dim-witted) are not affected by this. This is usually a constant aura around an evil-minded dragon; but in good dragons, such as the Faerie Dragons, this sixth sense is non-existant.
