Tiamat

In the Babylonian story of creation, Enuma Elish told of this serpent-like creature. This creature is known as the mother of the gods. Her scales were very tough; so tough that a mortal weapon could not puncture them. She was, however, slain by a mortal man called Marduk. She is referred to as the monster of air because of her likeness with this element.
